These mats are double knitted. They have opposite colors on the back side. I will be teaching this fun technique at the Michigan Fiber Festival on Wednesday August 17. It is class number 106. The double knitting means that you will be working stockingette stitch in two layers so the mats are stockinet in the knit side on both sides of the mat. We will start with the drink mats of your own design then work on a scarf and start a hat. This is a fun class if you are ready to add some color to your work. Great project idea! I have to admit that double knitting seems so intimidating yet every project I've seen completed is absolutely gorgeous. It's wonderful that this class is being offered at Fiber Festival this year.
